After 16 years
I returned to playing tournament chess. It's been ... well, a lot of things. Interesting, fun, humiliating, frustrating, recreating, tedious, rewarding, demanding... A lot has changed for chess, not least of all me. I record my games, and also slowly have been entering my old games, and the process of "21st-centurizing" them (running engines and tablebases on them!) has been eye-opening, humbling, and even shocking. I'll try to show you some of the better stories that have come out. Remind me to start with Capablanca-Tartakower / Schroer-Winslow.....

And now it's over six years on. Every now and then I play a pretty good game. With COVID going on, games are online, prize money is paltry, for which grandmasters show up. Rough.
